Jacqueline Spicer
Jacquie is currently a Learning Resource teacher for the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board. An ongoing interest in effective communication and special education has led her to conduct Board Professional Development in literacy, anti-racism education, assessment/evaluation and Special Education.

She recently presented at an ETFO Special Education conference for the Kawartha-Pineridge Board. She is completing her 32nd year of teaching. Drew, have chosen elementary teaching as their careers.

Jim Giles

Jim Giles is currently teaching seven-year-olds at Queen Victoria Public School, an inner city school in Toronto. Jim has taught Additional Qualification courses in the Arts for OISE/UT, York University, and the Haliburton School for the Arts.

He has received an Excellence in Teaching award from the Peel District School Board and his "Book and Backpack" initiative that provides meaningful home/school connections, won a Hilroy Fellowship Award.

He is a regular contributor to ETFO Voice and has published articles on the importance of the arts in education, equity issues and assessment/evaluation. Jim is scheduled to teach a summer PD course for ETFO in Sault St. Marie in August 2003.

Jim recently returned from an international exchange in Melbourne, Australia

Paul Oabel

Paul is a fourth-year teacher at St. Lawrence School, TCDSB in Scarborough. He is currently teaching a grade 7/8 class, and is involved in many aspects of school life. Paul is a member of the Beginning Teacher's Workgroup for the OECTA Provincial office.

Paul has an Honour's BA from York University and a Masters of Science in Education degree from Canisius College in Buffalo
